Astarte was worshipped as many things, to the Egyptians, She was honored as a Goddess of War and tenacity, to the Semites, She was a Goddess of Love and Fertility. Among the Greeks She was transposed into the Goddess of Love Aphrodite. The Great Goddess Astarte was also worshipped as Freya by the Norse, Indrani by the Hindus, by the Celts as Danu, and by the Egyptians as Hathor. Astarte, an initiative by budding managers at XLRI is a cultural extravaganza that promises young hearts in eastern zone of the country an experience they never had before. This festival shall be the meeting place for the young and those young at heart. It shall be characterized with the days jam-packed with events and competitions, which present one with an opportunity to showcase their talent in front of vast crowds. Events like Nukkad, Rangoli and AnoerXia shall leave the crowd asking for more. And the crowning glory of the festival shall take place under the title of Star Wars, wherein the best professional artistes from India shall perform. With confirmed massive participation in Inter-Collegiate events of the fest, Astarte promises to be one of its type events for the young hearts in Jamshedpur and other colleges of the country. |

Street Play rolls back the years, showcasing an array of acts with socially relevant messages. Authentic plays aimed at the common man are presented by troupes from various colleges at Bistupur, a location with plenty of banner and display space.
